Soul Healing Heroes Internship Program

Welcome to the SoulRapha Soul Healing Heroes Internship Program!

The Internship Program has two objectives:

1. Give students & young adults the opportunities to serve older adults in their community.

2. Give students the necessary resources and network to increase their career literacy in the field of Healthcare ie. EMT, Nurses Aid, Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Registered Nurse (RN), Aging care facility Management, psychologist, psychiatrist and more.

The Program is divided into 7 Steps:

• Steps # 1 & 2: Students, young adults and Older Adult Mentors register to become part of the program

  • Student Groups will receive registration information form their organization.

  • Individual Student’s (Independent Internship Program) please contact us at heroes.soulrapha.org for a link to the registration and application form. 

  • Older Adult Mentors can participate through the Activity Directors of their facilities.

• Step # 3: Interns Enroll for the online SoulRapha Internship Program. The online course program includes:

  • Online Program Enrollment

    • Participants enroll in their prospective group or organization

• Step # 4:

  • Online Internship Course & Lessons:

    • Agilities Work Profiler:

      • Helps Interns understand how their unique skills benefit a career in Healthcare

    • SoulRapha Orientation Videos & Assignments:

      • Interns gain a better understanding of the older adult situation and the skills needed to serve seniors in the mission to end senior isolation and loneliness.

    • Access to scheduling for Group and One-on-one Senior Mentor Events

    • Register for Online Community:

      • Access resources to further career literacy and development in Healthcare.

      • SoulRapha is partnering with Santa Ana College (SAC) to help Interns learn more about advanced education in Healthcare.

      • Resources are provided through SAC.

• Step #5: Registration and participation in Senior Mentor serve events

  • Phase #1: Registration for Group Senior Mentor Events

    • Group serve events-2 events

      • Meet your senior Mentor

      • Getting to know your senior mentor

  • Phase #2: One on one Senior Mentor meet-ups-3 events

    • One on one meetings with Intern’s Senior Mentor

    • Event style meet-ups 

• Step #6: Final Project

  • Report on your older adult experience

    • Use information gathered from one-on-one visits

  • Create Social Media post of experience

  • Review SAC Resources for health care career opportunities

  • Join and participate in SoulRapha/SAC Online Community:

    • Join SAC Peer Monitored Online Community

    • Do brief introduction of yourself

    • Brief summary of your Senior Mentor experience

    • Interests, if any, in a career in healthcare

Step #7: Graduation & Certification of Completion
